About The Artist

Born in Porto Alegre, south of Brazil, Felipe graduated from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul UFRGS and holds a Masters degree in Music Performance from City University of London.

Spending his time between Brazil, England and EUA since 2004, Felipe released four albums in London, "Na ponta do Pé" in 2008 with the Anglo-Brazilian band Caratinga, "Landscapes" in 2008 , "Seven steps from the border" in 2010 and 2013 "THREE" with the Pocket Caravan Quartet.

Felipe has played in venues such as Royal Albert Hall, Jazz Cafe, Wembley Arena, National Theatre, Royal Festival Hall and toured all around UK, Europe and Middle East.

In 2016 Felipe was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach as a Visiting Scholar at the Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury CT for the 2016-2017 academic year.

At the moment resides in Porto Alegre and dedicates himself to his solo work.

About The Album

De Sol a Sol explores many musical genres, from brazilian rhythms such as Frevo, Baião and Choro to Irish Dances, Jazz and Arab Influenced vibes. Revisits some of the more influential names in brazilian instrumental traditional music like Pixinguinha and Hermeto Pascoal and presents some new partnerships with modern composers of regional music, names such Luiz Morais and Samuca do Acordeon.

"It summarises my own musical quest of over 20 years searching an original voice on the violin, it celebrates this conquest" , says Felipe.

The result is an album diverse as music is in the countries he has been living, working and performing.
